The city of Miami is breaking new ground with NFTs. Miami Mayor Francis Suarez was happy to share plans on releasing 5000 ETH NFTS later in the year. This release is being done in partnership with Time magazine, Salesforce and Mastercard.
These NFTs are unique tokens designed by 56 artists based in Miami. Each artist and NFT reflect a specific area of the city – Miami is 56 sq. miles in size. This information was published in a press release. Time magazine is in charge of defining the strategy for the NFTs and the execution. Mastercard will offer NFT buyers special benefits like access to events at restaurants and private culture tours of Miami.
Salesforce is managing the NFT minting and the sales process using its NFT Cloud. This platform is brand new and has yet to be released. Keith Grossman, TIME’s president is also part of the Salesforce Web3 Board. He said it was the magazines first attempt in helping other companies to deploy projects related to NFTs. He was sure that there would be others to come in the near future.
According to Grossman, the new Miami NFTs are about offering buyers new experiences which are unique. The artwork also reflects the city’s diverse culture and art. Like other crypto believers, Mayor Suarez is not bothered with the downturn in the crypto market. He said that his office will continue with the use of new technology to support current businesses and attract new opportunities.
