Anthony Albanese, the COO of a16z Crypto, provided this news on Monday in a blog post on the company’s website.
Nassim Eddequiouaq has been appointed chief information security officer and Riyaz Faizullabhoy as chief technology officer of a16z Crypto. Their job will be to ensure the company portfolio’s projects meet strict security guidelines. They will also provide technical guidance to the company on security matters related to the company’s crypto projects.
The company has appointed some high-profile experts in recent time as it continues to expand its operation. It had added five crypto experts after raising $2.2 billion for its Crypto Fund III. The announcement was made by the company in June.
The list of names includes Bill Hinman who worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was working there as a director in the corporate finance department. He will be an advisory partner in the new job. Tomicah Tillemann who was a senior advisor to then Sen. Joe Biden, and two state secretaries have been appointed as global policy head. Rachael Horwitz who worked as Coinbase’s communication VP will be the new operating partner for marketing and communication.
Albanese has been with a16z since October. He was with New York Stock Exchange as chief regulatory officer. Eddequiouaq and Faizullabhoy have worked at Facebook. They created crypto custody infrastructure for Novi wallet which was earlier known as Calibra. They have worked together at Anchorage which is a cryptocurrency custody firm.
Albanese said in this blog post that the firm has been appointing world-class security leaders to improve the security of its crypto projects. He informs about the excellent track record maintained by Eddequiouaq and Faizullabhoy in infrastructure, bit data and blockchain.
