Amazon’s Web Services may be prepared to incorporate cryptocurrency, according to a job offering
The IT operations management firm (Amazon Web Services) of leading web retailer Amazon may be exploring boosting acceptance in the cryptocurrency market among its clients.
Their office in New York is recruiting a Financial Services Specialist who “knows the whole cryptocurrency and digital asset industry”. The candidate must have knowledge in distributed ledger and blockchain technologies, according to a job posting on 30th October. The job would engage with financial market operators, legislators, and investment firms to see how they may profit from crypto-currency adoption, according to the company.
Senior executives at leading international financial institutions would be encouraged to “revolutionize the way they transact digital assets” by the employee. They must also have at least 7 years of financial services business development experience “with expertise in blockchain or distributed ledger technology.”
Amazon has recently advertised job openings in the digital asset industry that need prior experience. The e-commerce website said in February that it was looking for a software design manager in Mexico to assist implement “a fresh payment solution”. This would allow the citizens of Mexico to buy cryptocurrency with cash and use them for shopping on Amazon.
In a July report, an Amazon official denied the business will enable cryptocurrency payments on its site. They did say, though, that the company was “exploring” the prospect of using digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC).
