Despite losing $650 million in the Ronin Bridge hack, Axie Infinity hit a total sales volume of $4.07 billion as of April 30,2022. Being one of the most popular names in the play-to-earn games sector and digital collectibles, Axie Infinity continues to achieve new milestones in the NFT space.
Axie Infinity is now ahead of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), and CryptoPunks. The soaring Axie Infinity sales volume is attributed to increased unique buyers which started from May 2021. It led to a spike in total transaction counts. The platform saw 17,416 unique buyers in Mary 2021 to 113,093 transactions, with a sales volume of around $27.71 million. Axie Infinity saw a spike of 1,135% in the number of unique buyers from May to July 2021 – 215,089. It corresponded to 1,349,597 transactions and $666.91 million in sales volume. In August, of the same year, the platform reached an all-time high in sales – $848.18 million, with a total number of unique buyers being 305,264.
Axie Infinity reached a peak of 520,425 unique buyers in November 2021 with 2,643,500 transactions and a sales volume of around $754 million. On April 1, 2022, AXS started trading at $63.45. It reached a monthly trading price of $74.87 and closed the month at $29.10. Data suggests there was a 54% decline between the opening and closing price in April.
