A leading software-as-a-service (Saas) eCommerce platform BigCommerce has collaborated with BitPay and CoinPayments to enable merchants to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as payments.
BigCommerce, like Shopify, empowers businesses to launch their own online stores with a user-friendly setup and partner integrations. It supports over 60,000 merchants globally. As such, they can now accept Bitcoin as payment. Marc Ostryniec, CSO at BigCommerce, said the new era of consumers is passionate about transacting using crypto and BigCommerce is helping them do it. He highlighted that merchants of all sizes will be able to leverage the new integrations provided by the two cryptocurrency infrastructure providers. Ostryniec said expanding their crypto ecosystem to include trusted best-of-breed partners is just one step towards driving innovation and growth for merchants.
The platform has exposed merchants to a broader audience via alternative payment methods. Merchants can reap the benefits of lower fees and operating costs. Moreover, they can control their wallets and lessen the likelihood of false chargebacks.
Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay, pointed out that accepting cryptocurrency can be intimidating and complex with a learning curve. BitPay has partnered with BigCommerce to help minimize the lift for merchants to add crypto as a payment option alongside their existing payment methods in just a few clicks.
Kalin Kalinov, the chief marketing officer of CoinPayments, their partnership with BigCommerce, amid an increase in demand worldwide for alternative payment solutions, provides merchants of all sizes with a trusted, streamlined, and scalable solution to accept crypto payments.
