The largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, Binance, is stepping up with a generous relief effort in the wake of the tragic earthquake that devastated Morocco and left countless people in desperate need of aid.
In reaction to the recent earthquake that devastated parts of Morocco, Binance Charity will airdrop up to $3 million to Binance users who reside in those areas. We anticipate that our efforts will be seen by 70,000 Moroccan users.
Binance Charity, the charitable arm of Binance, has promised to airdrop up to $3 million worth of BNB (Binance Coin) to users who live in the affected areas. Users who complete Proof of Address (POA) in the impacted area by September 9, 2023, will get $100 in Binance Coin (BNB), which is now worth $20,957 at the time of writing this article.
In addition, those finishing POA between September 9 and June 30, 2023, will earn $25 in BNB, equivalent to nearly $5,239 in cash. Funds will start being sent out to qualified users on September 12, 2023, according to the plan.
To support contributions from the global community, Binance Charity has developed a public donation address as an extension of this user-focused initiative. The Emergency Earthquake Appeal will use all donations made to this address, whether they are made in BNB, BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, or BUSD, to help those in need. The authorised NGO receiving the donations will soon be announced.
BNB, the native cryptocurrency of Binance, was trading at $208 at the time of writing and had a 24-hour trading volume of $520 million. This represents a tremendous 67% increase in just one day.
