Like a few other brands, TIME magazine is also making an entry into the crypto world. Partnering with The Sandbox, a gaming company in the blockchain arena, it plans to set up TIME Square for metaverse. This virtual square was inspired by the actual one located in NYC. The virtual spot is designed to capture the essence of the neighborhood as well.
The original square is an iconic spot in many ways – culture, commercial outlets and intersection, tourist mecca and a neighborhood which residents call home. It is best known for its huge and bright billboards advertising events and products. Times Square is the de facto heart of the city and called the World’s Crossroads.
TIME magazine wants to create something like the real spot in a virtual world so that everyone can enjoy it. It is expected to feature original art created by more than 40 artists who are well-know and influential. The current collections available within the community are – Beatclub, Genesis, Long Neckie and Slices of TIME.
According to Ken Grossman, President of TIME magazine, the goal is to create a virtual world which will be the metaverse’s heart. This platform plans to include TIMEpieces so that people can enjoy attending meetings and other events hosted by the magazine’s student. TIME Square will offer a bridge with is natural and connect people with real and virtual events. This is a very exciting project and many people are keenly following the progress of this build.
