Cardano ADA Shines In Ethereum Co-Founder’s Altcoin Pairing Twitter Polls.

Vitalik Buterin, the Ethereum co-founder, had taken to a Twitter poll on Friday to ask his followers which cryptocurrency they preferred. He had given them a choice of Bitcoin (BTC), US dollar (USD), Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA). Buterin asked his Twitter community that if they wake up in 2035 to find that 80% of all transactions and savings in the world are in one currency (not ETH), which currency would they prefer it to be.

He also asked them to choose from Binance Coin (BNB), Renminbi (CNY), TRON and Neo in the second tweet. The Twitter poll ended after 24-hours with 600,697 votes in the first tweet and 358,743 votes in the second one. The first poll saw Cardano (ADA) top the results followed by BTC and SOL. 42% voted for Cardano and 38.4% wanted bitcoin. The second poll had TRON topping at 51.3%. BNB was second at22.8% and NEO third at 21.8%.

You can see that Buterin’s first poll had the top cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. It didn’t include stable coins. Bitcoin has the highest market cap of $821 billion, Solana has the fifth-largest of $47 billion and Cardano is the seventh-largest with a market cap of $42 billion. ADA, which is Cardano blockchain’s native coin, was founded by Charles Hoskinson, who is also a co-founder of Ethereum. It is considered the “Ethereum killer” and can potentially push it away from the number one position.

Buterin’s January 14 Twitter poll has helped ADA rally over 13%, surpassing SOL and making a mark as the fifth crypto in the top 10. This gain comes after it lost over 50% of its value following an all-time high in September 2021
