According to a pre-update snapshot posted by Jason Citron, the CEO of Discord, the platform’s support for WalletConnect and MetaMask connections may be coming soon. Discord users will be able to effectively engage in emerging crypto projects such as coin adoption, NFTs, and Web 3.0 due to this new functionality.
But, several members of the community of Discord users expressed their displeasure with the change, considering cancelling their premium Nitro memberships.

Citron responded to a Twitter post from the creator of Not Boring, Packy McCormick, by announcing the planned Ethereum blockchain integration.
What was the reaction?
The gaming community disputed Citron’s snapshot of the pre-released version of Discord, even when this would promote crypto adoption. They cited the ecosystem’s persistent concerns with embezzlement, uncertainty in the NFT market, and carbon emissions.
Furthermore, as a consequence of the criticism, many users have cancelled their memberships to Discord Nitro, the platform’s paid version that costs 4.99 dollars a month. On the other hand, many members of the gaming forum consider this as a positive move and defended the NFT space.
A lot of individuals have been added to the crypto world owing to MetaMask connections. A cryptocurrency payment gateway called Bitfinex Pay incorporated MetaMask to its application on 5th November.
Bitfinex Pay now has over ten million additional users who can send and receive cryptocurrency payments due to the MetaMask integration. Paolo Ardoino, their chief technical officer told Cointelegraph that digital tokens will challenge the present payments sector. He added that it is “not a matter of if, but when.”
