According to online news reports, a limited edition non-fungible token (NFT) collection called the ‘Chakraverse’ was dropped on 28 December 2021. The non-fungible tokens were dropped to commemorate the 99th birth anniversary of Stan Lee. The NFT collection is based on one of the first creations of Stan Lee in the category of international superhero. It was known as ‘Chakra the Invincible’.
As per the sources, the Chakraverse NFT collection consisted of 7,000 unique NFT art pieces which were based on the characters from the Chakraverse comics. The auction consisted of many other interesting pieces like the limited edition non-fungible tokens of the first graphic novel based on Chakra the Invincible. Besides this, there was also an original series of animation gallery pieces. The NFT was reportedly dropped on an Indian NFT platform, BeyondLife.club. GuardianLink.io had partnered with POW! Entertainment, Orange Comet, and Graphic India for airdropping this NFT collection. It was later found that a Loot Box containing 6,865 non-fungible tokens was sold out with a few hours. Each NFT in this loot box was worth around $25.
The highlight of the Chakreverse limited edition NFT collection is a birthday non-fungible token, which will have a minimum bidding price of $30,000. The winner of this NFT will get physical assets besides the digital collectibles. This physical asset will also consist of the original story treatment of the superhero Chakra the Invincible.
In a 2012 interview, Stan Lee said that he was always fascinated by the Indian culture while discussing Chakra the Invincible. He went on to say that this was the first superhero he created specifically for the Indian market. Through the Chakraverse comics, he wanted to highlight eastern concepts like chakras through the comic superheroes.
