FC Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has sealed an exclusive multi-year NFT partnership with Binance. Through this collaboration, the crypto exchange aims to introduce soccer fans to the Web3 ecosystem.
Binance revealed that the agreement involves creating a series of NFT collections with the star footballer. The tokens, with the first NFT collection to be launched later this year, will be sold exclusively on the Binance NFT platform.
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO and founder of Binance, highlighted Ronaldo’s feats and accomplishments in soccer. He said the Portuguese footballer transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries. Zhao noted that Ronaldo has amassed one of the world’s most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent, and charity work. Binance is excited to give Ronaldo’s fans exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo as they own pieces of the NFT collections.
The footballer said fans will surely enjoy the upcoming NFT drops. He shared that his relationship with the fans is very important to him. Ronaldo said the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through the NFT platform is something that he wanted to be a part of. He was awarded crypto tokens in March for his achievements in the sport. Ronaldo was also given the official JUV token of Juventus FC for every senior career goal that he scored.
