If you want Dogecoin to succeed, continue to be relevant, and have a reason and need to exist, it must be used, says Billy Markus, the co-creator of the popular meme coin Dogecoin. He tweeted that Dogecoin needs to promote itself as a digital currency. Success can be achieved through it utilization, acceptance, and showing others its benefits.
Markus urged the community to contribute to the core development of the project than creating unnecessary hype. He highlighted that speculation has brought attention and work brings utility. Markus tweeted that Dogecoin needs to market itself as a digital currency. He said there is already infinite digital speculation and digital utility tokens and chains, and pointless speculation tokens are made daily. Markus touted Dogecoin to be in the best position to be the most used for purchasing and tipping.
The Dogecoin co-created had previously said that hype doesn’t last but only attracts get-rich-quick people! Markus outlined that projects need to focus on lasting value. Dogecoin was created as a meme, a joke, and a spin-off to the popular Bitcoin. It gained attention after Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented about it on Twitter. Musk and Markus have agreed over tweet exchanges that Dogecoin (DOGE) is indeed the “people’s crypto”.
Markus says Dogecoin is a satirical cryptocurrency made for sillies that randomly caught on. He believes that the meme tokens of today have no use case. The co-creator claims Dogecoin to be fast, scalable, and inexpensive. Markus pointed out that the meme coin doesn’t need to be yet another blockchain that hosts NFTs or other tokens.
