Famous rapper Drake has placed $1.3 million worth of bitcoin on Los Angeles Rams to win the Super Bowl match against the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. The pop legend is also betting $392,000 on Odell Beckham Jr (OBJ), wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, to have more than 62.5 receiving yards. He placed an additional $392,000 on OBJ to have over 0.5 anytime touchdowns.
Drake wrote that all bets are on the family and OBJ replied that it’s time. A few months ago, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver had partnered with Cash App and declared that he would be taking some of his NFL salary in the popular bitcoin. OBJ agreed to receive $750,000 of his salary in BTC and promised to give back $1 million in the world’s most popular cryptocurrency to his fans.
Currently, the buzz is that the National Football League will give away limited-edition NFTs to fans attending the Super Bowl’s return to Los Angeles on February 13. The non-fungible token will mark the game day. It will giveaway a personalized digital keepsake, including the attendee’s unique section and row.
It should be noted that in 2021, the NFL temporarily prohibited its teams from selling sponsorships to crypto trading firms. It also banned teams from selling NFTs. The NFL said they were developing a strategy for sports digital trading cards and art. A team official had stated that clubs are prohibited from selling, or allowing within club-controlled media, ICOs, advertisements for specific cryptocurrencies and other cryptocurrency sales as it relates to digital assets and blockchain.
