The bored apes community recently had a new member joining them. Eminem (actual name – Mathew Mathers), the hip-hop star, bought a non-fungible token (NFT) of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). The NFT (BAYC #9055) was bought for 123.45 ETH amounting to – $452,000.
The NFTs of BAYC are quite popular. According to metrics from defillama.com, in the year 2021 alone, the BAYC project has experienced a transaction volume of $1 billion globally.
Eminem, with his purchase of the NFT from BAYC, is the latest big-name member of the BAYC community. Eminem announced the acquisition on Twitter by using the image as his Twitter accounts display picture (DP).
On the Opensea platform, the acquisition of BAYC #9055 shows that the new owner is ‘shady holdings’. This portfolio, in addition, also holds other NFTs such as Lil baby doodles X, Ditaggdogg#1 and superlative apes #3880.
Other NFTs held by Eminem include SABC #2615 and Shaq gives back #4077. He also holds adult fantasy sub-dude (130/151). The portfolio also consists of several ERC 721 NFTs.
Geegaza was the original owner of the NFT BAYC #9055. Eminem bought the NFT from him. Geegaza was quite thrilled with the sale and took to Twitter to share his excitement.

According to metrics provided by dappradar.com, a total of 166 NFTs are held by Slim Shady. These 166 NFTs are sourced from 32 collections. The address also owns 1.52 ETH. This is after the acquisition of BAYC #9055 for 123.45 ETH.
Eminem also received another 124 ETH. This was from the account with the ENS name georgio.eth. The account georgio.eth has 504 NFTs. These NFTs have been sourced from 51 collections. BAYC #4936 is also a part of the collection. The account also spent 43.98 ETH, amounting to a total of $164.832 on two cryptopunks.
Eminem’s recent NFT purchase succeeds his NFTs for stans. His purchase was made on the marketplace for NFTs – Gateway. He, together with Paul Rosenberg and other VC funds, have invested $ 30 million in the marketplace – Makersplace.
