Entain, a global sports betting and gaming company, wants to lead the way with new, exciting products and experiences for customers. It wants to use cutting-edge technology to pioneer innovations in sport, gaming, and interactive entertainment for the metaverse.
As such, Entain is working towards launching Ennovate – an innovative lab that will help the company develop immersive sports and entertainment experiences in the metaverse. Entain intends to invest $133 million to fund start-ups and develop applications for NFTs, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Jette Nygaard-Andersen, Entain’s CEO, in a statement, said their new products will be tested in two retail experience zones or VR arcades by consumers.
In 2021, Entain, which was formerly known as GVC Holdings, went into an alliance with Verizon Media. With this it is now offering a first-of-its-kind, virtual reality multi-sports entertainment experience to its customers.
Sandeep Tiku, the chief operating officer at Entain, said the company continually offers customers a wide range of innovative and exciting experiences. Entain considers VR to be an exciting opportunity for the company to branch in new ways. It wants to mix sports, entertainment, and various types of immersive plays into one product. Through this, Entain will give customers a range of new and exciting products to enjoy.
Tiku said the products will include live streaming of football matches, experiences allowing fans to build fantasy lineups in VR, and play different sports with friends virtually. They can also enjoy thrilling rides through immersive VR content. The executive highlighted that Entain’s customers are looking for more multi-dimensional experiences. Entain will woo them with better experiences through the use of cutting-edge technology.
