Grease Monkey Games, an Australian game developer has received funding from Epic Games to make a motorsport racing game Torque Drift 2 that will be based on blockchain technology. This huge MegaGrant fund will help build this motorsport game. The fortnight creators informed that the game is based on drifting. Since it debuted in the videogame Unreal in 1998, many disciplines have used the 3D graphics computer game engine Unreal Engine.
The developers will create a realistic game experience by using this fund which is available in the range of $5000 to half a million USD. The gaming experience will be comparable to triple-A games built with Unreal Engine. Animoca Brands provided this information on Thursday. Grease Monkey plans to build a P2E (play to earn) game. This support is significant because the traditional game industry has regularly opposed blockchain games.
Torque drift 2 game will be released in 2024. The tuning garage will become accessible to gamers in the third quarter of 2022. Gamers will have the option to customize the profile and automobile using NFT components, decals, vehicles, and other in-game goods. They can design their cars with the custom paint job. They can share and sell the NFTs of car tuning.
Grease Monkey is a traditional game publisher with 45 million worldwide downloads. Since 2014, it has released many IP games. Animoca Brands bought it in Feb. 2022. The buyer helped it transition toward blockchain gaming. This gave players the digital ownership of various in-game goods whereas, in traditional games, players have to buy the in-game goods using actual money but cannot withdraw the given money again.
