Ethereum Lags Behind Bitcoin, Solana, and Traditional Stocks: Experts Analyze the Causes.

Ethereum (ETH), the most popular altcoin, has underperformed assets including Bitcoin, Solana, Nvidia, Meta, Apple, Gold, and others, according to a thorough research. As a result, ETH is down 2% on Thursday.

Analysts from CryptoQuant and the co-founder of F2pool talk about why ETH has underperformed and what investors should expect.

Daily digest market movers: Is Ethereum underperforming or undervalued?

Ethereum has not performed well this year compared to other large capitalisation assets, according to Ecoinometrics. Ethereum is struggling with a return of just 9%, whereas Nvidia, Meta, Bitcoin, Apple, Gold, Google, Amazon, NASDAQ, and Microsoft have all reported increases of 142%, 48%, 38%, 22%, 19%, 18%, and 12%, respectively.

The top altcoin struggles started after Ethereum’s The Merge, which marked the switch to a proof-of-stake consensus method and was anticipated by CryptoQuant’s analysts.

The experts claim that since The Merge, Ethereum has underperformed Bitcoin, Solana, and BNB by 44%, 53%, and 18%, respectively.

A lower overall transaction count on the Mainnet, which resulted in a drop in transaction fees, is one of the main causes of the underperformance, according to CryptoQuant experts. Furthermore, the supply of Ethereum has been increasing; it may no longer maintain its deflationary state.

The researchers ascribed the sluggish network activity and increasing supply to Ethereum’s new architectural dynamics brought about by the Dencun upgrade in March.

Shenyu, co-founder of F2pool, pointed out that Ethereum is still an invention at the level of human civilisation and that the market undervalues it since killer applications have not yet surfaced in response to the FUD around ETH’s underperformance.

Shenyu continued, “As investors, we have to put up with this kind of mispricing and volatility in order to get real returns.”

Conversely, Ethereum ETFs experienced net withdrawals of $37.5 million for the second consecutive day.

Greyscale reported $3.1 million in inflows into its Mini Ethereum Trust and $40.6 million in outflows from its ETHE.

ETH Technical Analysis: Ethereum May Face Further Decline if Key Support Level Isn’t Reclaimed

On Thursday, Ethereum’s price is approximately $2,390, down over 2% for the day. With long and short liquidations totalling $11.09 million and $3.65 million, respectively, ETH has experienced $14.74 million in liquidations in the last 24 hours.

ETH has broken over a crucial rectangle’s support level at $2,400 for the second time in the last three days. Before going outside of it on Tuesday, ETH traded inside this rectangle for more than three weeks in August.

The price of ETH may drop towards the $2,111 support level if it is unable to swiftly regain the $2,400 support. This is in accordance with a significant trendline that indicates ETH will probably drop below the $2,111 support level before putting on a rally.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is trying to rise above its moving average, although it is now below its midline. If it succeeds in this move, ETH might briefly increase in value.

In order to settle positions valued at over $45 million, ETH may temporarily jump to $2,425 in the short term.
