Recently, a video of the former CEO and Chairman of Google, Eric Schmidt is doing rounds on the internet. It is a short clip where the ex-Google CEO is seen parsing the Bitcoin architecture and calling it a “remarkable cryptographic achievement.”
Shot at the Computer History Museum, the video is originally from 2014. In his speech, Eric Schmidt made positive remarks about Bitcoin saying “Bitcoin is a remarkable cryptographic achievement. The ability to create something which cannot be replicated in the digital world has enormous value.”
Not only this but Schmidt was also seen giving a future perspective of Bitcoin in that video. He said that Bitcoin’s architecture is an “amazing advancement” and several people will build businesses on top of it in the future.
The global Crypto market is facing a tough time for quite a while now. In fact, Bitcoin reached its all-time lowest value in July 2022. During such a time, a video (even though it is an old one) where a high authority personality like Eric Schmidt is praising Bitcoin brought some positivity.

Eric Schmidt is a renowned software engineer and an American businessman. He served as Google’s CEO and chairman from 2001 to 2011. In his tenure, Google made several technological advancements and reached multiple milestones. He remained the company’s technical advisor till 2020. With a net worth of $20 billion, Eric Schmidt is also the world’s 70th richest person.
In April this year, the former Google CEO accepted that he is a crypto-investor. However, he is more interested in the architecture of blockchain and Web3 rather than the digital currencies themselves. He refrained from naming any specific crypto that he owns.
