But on Aan NFT creator who goes by the name of “Beeple”, was a victim of phishing and had his Twitter account compromised. Sources say that the main reason for this hack was a phishing attempt.
An analyst from MetaMask said that Beeple’s Twitter posts contained a link that was a phishing scam. It was touted as a raffle for the new Louis Vuitton NFT. But instead of leading to the raffle, it drained the people’s crypto wallets and left them with nothing.
Beeple recently designed 30 NFTs for the luxury brand Louis Vuitton which were supposed to be dropped as rewards for people playing a game. The people were lured in by the name brand and the relative hype around it and the early access opportunity.
The hackers were able to get away with 36 ETH worth $73,000. Previously too Beeple’s Discord server was targeted. It is important for both creators and normal people to beef up their security measures due to these cyber attacks. This was the first link, but the second link did the most damage and swindled crypto enthusiasts out of $365k.
