FTX to sponsor ICC

The International Cricket Council, or ICC, is all set to be the next major organization to add cryptocurrency exchanges to its list of sponsors. Crytpo exchange FTX is all set to become the sponsor of ICC in major upcoming tournaments. As the deal currently stands, FTX will start partnering with the ICC from the 2021 men’s T20 International World cup and continue till ICC ODI World Cup in 2023. From 2021 to 2023 International World Cup, FTX would be the Official Cryptocurrency Exchange Partner of ICC. In these 3 years, ICC will be holding a number of important tournaments. Apart from the T20 and ODI world cups, ICC will hold events in the under-19 and women’s cricket as well. For each of these events, FTX will be its official cryptocurrency exchange partner.

While FTX has been in the global sports arena for a long time now, this is the first time the cryptocurrency exchange is entering the field of cricket. From a business point of view, the move makes a lot of sense. In a recent analysis, it was found that the highest number of crypto buyers are from India. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are also growing their crypto sectors. In this context, investing in ICC can reap huge benefits. India’s cricket board BCCI is very influential in ICC, and India has the highest number of cricket watchers by far. Even in Sri Lanka and Pakistan, there are millions of cricket watchers. To capture this market, cricket is the best medium. FTX is all set to enter these markets through its association with the ICC.
