Tourists can opt for crypto payment at Soneva Fushi, Soneva Jani, and Soneva in Aqua in the Maldives, and Sonvea Kiri in Thailand. The hotel has partnered with TripleA, a cryptocurrency payments solutions provider, and payment platform provider – Pomelo Pay. Through TripleA, Sonvea’s customers can make crypto payments without any risk of price volatility. They have the advantage of instant confirmation, locked-in exchange rates, real-time conversions, and no chargebacks. Moreover, it can be used with Pomelo Pay, which facilitates cryptocurrency payments via a secure QR code and payment link technology.
Bruce Bromley, the chief financial officer and deputy CEO of Soneva, said the hotel has always endeavored to be a pioneer in the hospitality industry. As such, its accepts cryptocurrencies as a payment method. Bromley said this is another example of enabling their international guests to make payments easily from anywhere in the world. It should be noted that while payments made in Bitcoin and Ethereum are 100% non-refundable, credits apply in line with its flexible cancellation policy.
