The Immutable Games Studio has announced that they will be letting go of various employees. This includes senior-level game designers as well. This is due to the slump that has been witnessed when it comes to cryptocurrency prices.
Immutable Letting Go Of Employees
James Wakeham used to work in the role of a lead designer on the cryptocurrency game from Immutable, ‘Gods Unchained’. This is a trading card game that’s based on the blockchain. He revealed on Twitter recently that he, among other employees, was being let go of. He went on to say that that was why he was looking for a new job.
Immutable announced its layoffs on Monday. This was during a meeting of all-hands. Nearly 6% of the workforce of the company was affected by the layoffs. Immutable has just completed one round of fundraising, where it managed to raise around $200 million. Immutable has a total valuation of around $2.5 billion.
James Ferguson, the co-founder and the current CEO of Immutable, has informed employees that their company is still in a position that is fantastic. Immutable has also made it apparent that even though they are laying off employees, this doesn’t mean that they won’t be hiring new ones. This applies especially to those who are working on the game ‘God’s Unchained’. They also have a role-playing game called ‘Guild of Guardians’ that they have in development.
A spokesperson for the UK branch of Immutable also said that they were going to hire people for tokenomics, engineering as well as product, for the game ‘Gods Unchained’.
