According to online news sources, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh who is widely known for his match-winning performances has reportedly launched his own NFT collection. The announcement about the non-fungible token collection was made on his birthday, December 12, 2021, on Twitter. With this, Yuvraj Singh has become the latest celebrity sportsperson to join the NFT space.
As per the details received through the announcement, the Yuvraj Singh Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Collection is being launched in collaboration with Colexion. Colexion is the largest blockchain-based NFT marketplace in Asia that sells exclusive and premium digital collectibles of mega-celebrities. In the tweet, Yuvraj Singh also took the opportunity to thank his fans for supporting him throughout his career and giving him the strength to power through his lows.
In a promotional video for the NFT, Yuvraj Singh is seen stating that this NFT Collection is a big present for all his fans who have continued to cheer for him throughout the years. As per the announcement, the Yuvraj Singh NFT Collection will be launched on Colexion on December 25.
This is not the first time an Indian cricketer has launched an NFT. In October this year veteran Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar also hopped on the non-fungible token (NFT) bandwagon by launching his own collection. Gavaskar’s NFT collection featured the landmark moments of his career as a cricket player, including the time when he scored 774 runs in single test series. Besides this, there were NFTs based on his record number of Test centuries (34) and Gavaskar being the first cricketer to score 10,000 runs. Sunil Gavaskar’s NFT collection was curated and designed by nftie, which is an NFT specialist based in London.
