There is a clash witnessed between two Indian political parties on Bitcoin. As per the sources, Indian National Congress (INC) accused Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) specifically operating in Karnataka of hiding a Bitcoin scam.
The spokesperson of the Indian National Congress, Randeep Singh Surjewala holds the opposition, Bhartiya Janta Party accused of concealing the biggest scam. After Randeep, many other spokespeople of the Political Party joined the discussion. Many leaders of the political party blamed Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi as he is trying to drop the investigation. This scam took place back in 2019 and the crime came to notice after a year.
What is the scam Congress referring to?
Srikrishna Ramesh, the hacker based in Bengaluru was taken into custody for the crime. He later confirmed that he was involved in another cyber fraud in 2016. In 2019, he was involved in majorly three crimes including cyber fraud, cryptocurrency theft, and drug peddling. As per the reports, Srikrishna has ceased more than 11.5 crores by hacking Karnataka’s government e-procurement site.
In 2020, the Central Crime Branch of India seized around 31 Bitcoins. The sources speak that these Bitcoins were worth 9,00,00,000 INR, and further it is linked with corruption and within different police ranks.
Why was Bommai blamed by Congress?
Congress spoke against Karnataka’s CM Bommai whom they think is not conducting a fair investigation. According to Congress, BJP is trying to hide the incident. To which, Bommai replied that Congress was in power in 2016. They did not take any action against the previous case, so why are they pointing in this matter.
