An NFT collection featuring artwork by Hollywood celebrity Johnny Depp is soaring after the Pirates of the Caribbean star won the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp’s collection – Never Fear Truth – had a total trading volume of 1,500 ETH since its launch and recorded a sharp spike in sales after the jury reached its final verdict. The jury awarded the actor $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. The NFT collection, which has 3,850 tokens, had 212 sales on June 2. Depp made “Friends and Heroes” the theme of his collection. It showcases people the actor has known well or those that have inspired him. Famous celebrities like Al Pacino, Heath Ledger, Elizabeth Taylor, and Tim Burton are on this list; the collection features 607 self-portraits.
The NFT collection description highlights that each image is an intimate reflection of their character in Johnny’s eyes – a portrayal of how they have revealed themselves to him. Each Never Fear Truth NFT, as per OpenSea, will act as a membership to a creative community and future releases by Depp.
Never Fear Truth has a floor price of about $944 (0.52ETH) and peaked at 1.64 ETH following the verdict. Ethereum also gained traction, traded at $2,664.
