Socialite and businesswoman Paris Hilton believes the Metaverse is the future of parties. The OG influencer sees the digital space as a place where people can socialize and interact with their kind virtually.
Appearing as a guest on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, Paris Hilton shared her experiences with non-fungible tokens (NFTs). She revealed that she would introduce her first NFT collection with Super Plastic on the Origin protocol. The Hilton heiress enlightened the audience members with her collection entitled “Forever Fairytale”. It is a collage of memories with Carter Reum, her husband.
Paris Hilton has gifted the first NFT in her collection to Jimmy Fallon. Members of the audience thanked their lucky stars as the celebrity presented each one of them with the additional NFTs. Fallon applauded this as the first NFT giveaway in television history.
This is Paris Hilton’s first collection but not her first step in the NFT space. She sold her Iconic Crypto Queen NFT in April 2021 for $1.1 million. The socialite set up in the crypto space in 2016 when she became friends with Ethereum’s founders. And there was no looking back. Paris Hilton, since then, has gained an NFT collection of 141 pieces. It includes the works by Grimes and Steve Aoki, and a Bored Ape.
Over the past year, Paris Hilton has emerged as an “unexpected advocate” for the Metaverse. During New Year’s Eve 2021, she launched “Paris World” on the online gaming platform Roblox. Hilton shot it off to a big start as a DJ to a virtual crowd. She believes that its important for people to not only be in the physical world but in the digital world as well.
The Metaverse island, to date, has attracted around 63,900 visitors. Paris Hilton is hopeful for its future and sees it evolving through various events like Valentine’s Day, New York Fashion Week and Super Bowl etc.
