According to online news sources, the independent game developer based in Boston has reportedly announced that it has raised $5 million in venture capital to build a metaverse game. As per the announcement, the blockchain-based metaverse gaming platform will be called Planet Mojo. The platform will be offered on browsers, and the players would have the option of choosing from an interconnected suite of games. One of the games that will be featured in the suite is 3D Auto Chess, which will come with play-to-earn and player vs. player mechanics. It has been found that Planet Mojo will also come with elements of Augmented Reality (AR).
The metaverse gaming platform Planet Mojo will be the first title from Mystic Moose and the company is planning to release it in the first quarter of 2022. The story of Planet Mojo is based in an alien world where nature has been pitted against the machines. The CEO and founder of Mystic Moose, Michael Levine, said in an interview recently that Planet Mojo will be unlike Roblox and other such platforms. He said that the games offered in Planet Mojo would allow users to have their own team and also customization options in weapons, skins, and abilities. The game will make the players feel like they are playing a 3D virtual version of D&D.
The founder of Mystic Moose had previously worked on other popular games like ‘Sam and Max: This Time it’s Virtual’, ‘Hologrid Monster’ and ‘QuasAR Arena’. The art director of Mystic Moose, Eric Campanella, has also worked on famous games like ‘Command and Conquer: Generals’ and the second and third installments of ‘Call of Duty’.
