Despite the current downturn in the crypto market, OKX has made a deal with Manchester City to become the EPL champion team’s training kit sponsor for the 2022-23 season. Fellow English Premier League team Everton also signed a match kit sponsorship with Stake, a crypto gambling firm. And PSG launched preseason NFT tickets.
Through the deal, OKX is looking to attract eyeballs on company branding. And it definitely will as Manchester City won the EPL last season and is set to make another tilt at the league this season after signing Norwegian star striker Erling Haaland. The crypto exchange’s logo will feature on the men’s and women’s training gear until mid-2023. Current previews show OKX’s name on the front of training shirts in the lower chest area.
Moreover, OKX has commissioned popular street artist Akse P19 and the Global Street Art Agency to create four artworks across Manchester. It includes QR codes that can be scanned by fans for a chance to win season tickets in the OKX Hospitality Box. The art pieces show players such as Haaland, Jack Grealish, Joao Cancelo and John Stones. This partnership came about in March after OKX became Manchester City’s Official cryptocurrency exchange partner. They believe that this will give rise to more Web3-focused fan engagement experiences.
In regards to Everton’s deal, the multi-year agreement is worth $12 million per season. This marks the football club’s highest front-of-shirt deal in Everton’s 144 year history. Last season, Stake had a deal with Watford FC.
