SHAREit is indeed a peer-to-peer file sharing, broadcasting, as well as gaming interface that allows users to share files but also content both online and offline. It is a multimedia amusement software for users since it provides access to short-format videos and a large choice of games. The team behind ShareIt was present at the Crypto Expo Dubai Event.
It is compatible with a variety of smartphone platforms and allows users to transfer files straight between devices. SHAREit was initially created as part of Lenovo, but then was later split off and is now operated by Smart Media4U Technology Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based technology business.
History of sHARE IT
SHAREit had first been launched underneath Lenovo’s ownership before being sold to Singapore-based Smart Media4U Technology. The program was merely a peer-to-peer file-sharing facilitator when it was first released. SHAREit later added recreational elements to the app, allowing users to watch videos thanks to partnerships with companies like Times Music.
SHAREit bought South India OTT platform Fastfilmz app on May 8, 2018, and named the company’s creator Karam Malhotra as a partner as well as vice president.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, SHAREit launched a COVID-19 tracker and video section to track infections & share data on the virus’s progress. SHAREit also took part in “Ingat Angat Bakuna Lahat,” a multimedia campaign in the Philippines aimed at increasing vaccine confidence as well as speeding up the country’s economic revival.
Gaming
A dedicated gaming center was added to SHAREit after it was upgraded from a peer-to-peer file and content sharing program, allowing users to play HTML5 games and gaming videos.
The Indian Defense Ministry expressed security concerns over 42 popular platforms in 2017, including SHAREit, WeChat, Mi Store, and Truecaller, and ordered its military troops to delete them from their phones and laptops.
SHAREit denied the charge, claiming that its security metadata integration program with Google assures that all apps transmitted through SHAREit are checked by Google Play as well as certified malware-free before being shared across devices via the SHAREit app.
