Samson Mow is leaving Blockstream to concentrate on ‘nation-state Bitcoin adoption.’

Globally, bitcoin adoption is on the rise. El Salvador has already announced that BTC can be used as legal tender in the country. Many other countries are contemplating similar moves.

Samson Mow who was heading strategy at Blockstream till recently, announced that he was quitting the firm. He had been with the firm for five years. Making the announcement, he said that the firm was well-capitalized and it was time for him to move on. He made the announcement on Twitter. Mow is widely recognized as being among the leading crypto experts in the world.

He added that he would not be totally cut-off from the firm. He will continue to be associated with the firm as a #Blockstreamspy. Also, Mow plans to continue working to advocate for the adoption Blockstream’s settlement network. He said that his exit was prompted by his desire to make nation-states adopt bitcoin. He however remains the CEO of the gaming firm Pixelmatic.

Mow feels that with bitcoin adoption on the rise, things are at a critical juncture. It is in the interest of the crypto space to push for mass adoption now. He plans to work on this now onwards.

The president of El Salvador had announced the construction of a bitcoin city in the country. Mow hopes to be able to work on the project now. The plan for the city envisages the use of geothermal power to drive bitcoin mining. The bitcoin city has the potential to be the bitcoin capital of the world. El Salvador, in turn, could become a major global financial center.
