Serena Williams, the 23-time Gram Slam champion, believes Bitcoin makes a “super strong investment”. She recently partnered with Cash App to bring more financial services to women and people of color using Bitcoin. Williams lauded the world’s most loved cryptocurrency as the industry leader. She highlighted that the crypto world is constantly evolving, with the progress mainly being led by Bitcoin.
The World No.1 women’s tennis star has invested in BTC through Serena Ventures. Jack Dorsey, social media platform Twitter’s co-founder and CEO of Block, announced Williams’ collaboration with Cash App during the Bitcoin 2022 Conference in Miami last week. Williams hopes the initiative would include grand women and people of color, and additional access to Bitcoin’s opportunities. The sports star said it’s important to expand Bitcoin to women and people of color.
Williams has also shown her belief in Bitcoin through a viral Twitter clip wherein she says that she likes looking at Bitcoin as there is not going to be a ton available. She pointed out that there’s a lot happening in the crypto world and it’s all being led by Bitcoin.
Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, recently invested $5 million in Lolli – a Bitcoin rewards company. The funding will go toward Lolli’s mobile app which allows users to earn Bitcoin when they shop online at partnered retailers. The company has already pulled in Nike, Kroger, and Best Buy among others to offer Bitcoin rewards for purchases on Lolli.
Williams highlighted that Lolli is a company on a mission to make Bitcoin more accessible. She believes earning and owning Bitcoin is a step towards financial inclusivity for everyone.
