Twitter is bringing Bitcoin Lightning Tips and NFT Authentication to the platform.

Twitter users with an Apple device can now connect tipping services from third parties to their Twitter profile. You can even add Bitcoin, as well as Lightning Network addresses.

Twitter also announced that they would be adding non-fungible tokens or NFT authentication to their platform. This feature is currently still in development, and no specific date has been provided for its release.

Bitcoin and Lightning Tips

The feature that allows users to send tips through the Twitter platform is available for iOS users immediately. Android users should also be able to use the feature soon.

The addition of these features comes in the wake of Twitter enabling users with large follower counts to monetize their content. Twitter has not yet revealed when or if this feature will also be available on the Twitter website.

Payment services from third parties are responsible for enabling this tipping feature. Twitter also revealed that they wouldn’t be taking any portion of these tips. They also revealed that users across the world would find access to different ways to tip. Bitcoin and Lightning tips will be available to users across the world.

Dorsey Pushes Bitcoins

The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, had already revealed in June that Twitter would soon integrate Lightning payments. The addition of NFTs is also important, and the use of NFTs as avatars has increased drastically.

With a system that allows for easy verification of the ownership of NFTs, it’ll likely help to establish the NFT ecosystem more thoroughly.
