To help Ukraine defend itself from Russia’s invasion, Ukrainian boxing legend Wladimir Klitschko will sell NFTs. He has partnered with a New York-based artist WhIsBe for the collection, which will be released on OpenSea.
WhIsBe is renowned for re-fashioning his Vandal Gummy bears artwork; it features colorful gummy bears in police lineup photos. The Vandalz for Ukraine:WhIsBe x Wladimir Klitschko collection will be available for $100, $1,000, and $10,000. Moreover, a 1-of-1 NFT will be sold for $1 million.
The former world heavyweight boxing champion says proceeds from the Vandalz for Ukraine NFT sales will go to Red Cross Ukraine and UNICEF. Participating partners are expected to waive their fees. Starting today, the sale will go on for three weeks.
Klitschko, 45, has also enlisted in Ukraine’s reserve army. His brother, Vitali, now a mayor of the war-struck nation’s capital Kyiv, also a former boxing champion has vowed to defend his country from Russian aggression.
Meanwhile, Ukraine and its supporters, mainly DAOs and NGOs have raised millions of dollars in cryptocurrency donations. This is the second week of the attack. Russia has been destroying Ukraine’s cities through shelling. Millions of people have fled to neighboring countries and hundreds have died.
