Ukrainian government requested BTC and ETH donations, raising $17 million so far.

The Ukrainian government made an appeal to the global community for donations right after the Russian invasion. More than $10 million poured into crypto wallets, information on which was posted by Ukraine on its Twitter platform which is official. They solicited and got Bitcoin, Ethereum and other crypto funds.

The country’s Vice PM Mykhailo Fedorov requested citizens of the world to support Ukraine’s people and help any way they could. According to Elliptic, an analytics firm, Ukraine had managed to garner $17.2 million in donations by the end of Sunday. A single donation to the tune of $1.86 million was made with NFTs. This money was originally intended to help Julian Assange. Donations received by Ukraine included the major cryptos and quite a bit in stablecoins tied to the US dollar.

According to Elliptic, many supporters are donating in NFTs directly to the government’s ETH account. According to the Ukrainian Ambassador in Austria, bitcoin is officially accepted and legit in the country. All donations are welcomed.

Besides these, a Ukrainian NGO also received a substantial donation in crypto. According to the Bitcoin website’s newsfeed, a fund titled “Come Back Alive” has more than $5 million in its coffers, in BTC. At the time of publications, the organization was given 170.057 BTC, which are worth $6.6 million at current prices. People and organizations around the world have generously donated funds and many other items to help the people of Ukraine.
