Yield Guild Games is quite a popular guild with gamers, and it has achieved a new milestone recently. The number of scholars, new on the Axie platform and other P2E games was achieved.
According to information released by the company, 20,700 new and unique scholars were added to the rolls in February 2022. This is an 8500% increase compared to the same time last year, February 2021. Last year, there were only 241 scholars. This milestone is a new record in the P2E space, a spokesman for YGG said, in an interview with Cointelegraph.
These P2E scholarships help new players to have an Axie NFT team loaned to them by the Guild. All of the in-game earnings are then divided between the player, the YGG DAO and the community manager. According to YGG, this is just the first milestone of many the company wanted to achieve. The company has invested a lot of funds in the function related to Game Ops so that it is the bridge between game partnership and the community’s guild members.
According to data provided by YGG, scholars had farmed over 26.4 million SLP, a token native to Axie. This number was in February 2022 alone and is a 57%b increase over January 2022. Though SLP prices have gone down, sustained scholarship demand is a given, said a YGG spokesman. SLP is trading at $0.18 at present, and down from its all-time high in July 2021 of 0.40. Other than the Axie scholarships, the company has also set up similar programs for a soccer themed P2E game called CyBall. All 1000 scholarships were taken immediately and the company promises to offer more through its channel, Discord.
