Gene Simmons is a rock legend. He is a bassist and co-lead singer with the band Kiss. He has put up his mansion for sale. The sale announcement also said that he would accept payments for the mansion in cryptocurrency. Simmons is a vocal supporter of cryptocurrencies.
Simmons had purchased the property for $10.8 million. The property had been bought in May 2021. In Oct 2021, the property was listed for sale, initially at $14.95 million. There are other celebrities who are also accepting payments in crypto for their properties. Before Simmons, David Guetta had also put up his property for sale. Guetta had said that he would accept payments in crypto – BTC and ETH.

The mansion is a luxury property spread across 11,000 square feet. The property provides a view of the skyline of Las Vegas. The mansion is constructed on three levels. Simmons strongly believes that crypto is the future of currency. As a believer in the future of crypto, he said that he felt it was necessary to therefore accept payments in crypto.
The mansion is worth around $13.5 million. Gene Simmons said that they would accept payments in either BTC, ETH, LTC, UNI, DOT, AAVE or Try. Finance Payment in a combination of the listed currency would also be acceptable.
The listing broker for the sale also added that prior to the payment in crypto, it would need to be properly verified with closing costs. Taxes and commissions would need to be considered for the purpose of determining closing costs.
Simmons already owns other cryptocurrencies such as DOGE and XRP. He is reported to recently also have bought ADA. Despite his strong endorsements of crypto, there is also some skepticism, in the crypto community, around the reasons behind his vocal support.
