EthCC[9] 2026

EthCC[9], the ninth Ethereum Community Conference, was held from 30 March to 2 April 2026 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes. It is organised by Ethereum France, a non-profit association, and is Europe’s largest yearly gathering of Ethereum developers and researchers.

Key details

• Dates: 30 March – 2 April 2026
• Location: Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, Cannes, France
• Organiser: Ethereum France
• Official website: https://ethcc.io/

What happened

The organiser counts 5,000 attendees, more than 400 speakers, 120+ sponsors and over 250 side events for this edition, down from 6,500 attendees at EthCC[8]. The programme opened with a DeFi day, where Emilio Frangella of Aave Labs presented Aave V4, and later days covered real-world assets, staking and client work, including talks by Justin Drake of the Ethereum Foundation and Tomasz Stanczak of Nethermind.

Why it mattered

EthCC is where Ethereum’s roadmap debates move from forum posts to the stage, so its agenda is a good guide to what builders will ship over the following year. The conference stays in Cannes until 2028, and EthCC[10] is set for 12 to 15 April 2027.

Much of the staking discussion builds on two earlier upgrades: the Ethereum Merge, which moved the network to proof of stake, and the Shanghai upgrade, which opened staking withdrawals.
